The Crematorium Office at the Chanterlands Crematorium re-opened 14 September, however, in order to maintain COVID-19 safety we are operating a strict appointment only service. If you wish to discuss a Bereavement Service related matter please ring 01482 614976 for help and if necessary to book an appointment to see a Bereavement Officer. The building has been assessed and is COVID-19 secure. Visitors entering the building will be required to wear a face covering and sanitise their hands.
30 is the maximum in the large chapel and in Eastern Chapel (this excludes the person delivering the service but includes anyone else within the chapel for example standard bearers etc). The law states no more than 30 at this present time and the normal social distancing rules must apply. It is 12 maximum inside the small chapel in order to be able to apply the required social distancing.
Face coverings are mandatory and must be worn by everyone attending unless they are able to show an exemption card/certificate (obtainable from the GOV.UK website). Attendees must be advised the wearing of face coverings is mandatory and must remain on throughout the service.
The rule of six applies to all post funeral arrangements which includes Cremated Remains Scatterings and the Burial/Interment of Cremated Remains - we have to with immediate effect implement no more than six attending these events. If greater numbers wish to attend they are going to have to delay and rearrange things for when the restrictions are changed and allow for greater numbers to be in attendance, but that is not the case at this present time. We suggest families talk to wake venues before they make arrangements as these places will also be affected by the rule of six.
