If you have already reported antisocial behaviour (ASB) and the problem has not been resolved, you can use the community trigger to ask for a review of your case.
Community trigger is a way that you can ask us to review responses to complaints of ASB. We make sure that we work together with partners, sharing information to try to resolve your ASB complaint.
It doesn't replace an organisations own complaints procedure and you still have the opportunity to complain to the Ombudsman or Independent Police Complaints Commission if you are unhappy about the service you have received from an individual officer or service.
How to use the community trigger
You can request the trigger if -
- you (as an individual) have complained to us, Humberside Police or your registered social landlord three times about separate ASB incidents in the last six months and you feel you have not had an adequate response
- five individuals in the local community have complained separately to us, Humberside Police or your registered social landlord in the last six months about similar incidents of ASB and feel they have not had an adequate response

You need to provide details of each time you have complained including the -
- name of organisation
- incident reference number
- details of the antisocial behaviour
The trigger takes into consideration -
- the persistence of the ASB
- harm or potential harm caused
- adequacy of the response
- whether it is hate motivated
Anyone can activate the trigger such as –
- a family member
What happens next
Once you have asked for a community trigger review we ask the agencies involved to provide details of your complaints. A minimum of two people from two different agencies decide if the threshold for review is met. You are then informed within five working days of their decision and are given reasons if the criteria to review your case have not been met.
If the threshold is met you are sent a form to fill in. Once we receive this it is reviewed within 28 days and a meeting takes place between the appropriate agencies. This may include us, Humberside Police, the housing department, registered housing providers, and other partners (if they are involved). During the meeting they discuss the ASB and what actions have been considered and taken, making recommendations of how the problem may be resolved. You are informed of the outcome and if further actions are needed an action plan and timescales are discussed with you.
If you are unhappy with the decision you can appeal to the head of the Community Safety Partnership and Police Inspector of Neighbourhoods. They let you know of their decision within 28 days and if your appeal is successful they refer it back to the group for further review.
If you are still not satisfied you can appeal to the Police and Crime Commissioner.
