COVID-19 - Service Update

Your marriage is a special occasion and we look forward to welcoming you to the Guildhall and being part of your special day. 

The current pandemic has meant that we have had to make a number of changes to the services we provide and whilst we recognise the importance of your day, we ask that as you help us to keep you and our staff safe by adhering to the measures we have put in place.

Please ensure you read the below document and understand the restrictions currently in place -

Our register office ceremony room is located in The Guildhall. 

The Guildhall is in the city centre on Alfred Gelder Street. The Guildhall is a prestigious building, providing an impressive setting for you to share your special day with family and friends.

On arrival your guests gather in the Tapestry Room, before moving into the room where you ceremony will take place. The ceremony room is a museum room boasting a collection of historical maritime memorabilia. This room has seating for approximately 50 guests.

After your ceremony you are able to enjoy having photographs on the steps of the buildings impressive entrance, as well as in other settings such as the beautiful Queen's Gardens or Wilberforce Gardens, at rear of Wilberforce House, in the museum quarter on Little High Street are only a short walk away.

Choosing to have your ceremony in our room at The Guildhall, means that you can choose your ceremony from a selection available. You can also make your ceremony more personal by including an additional reading and providing music that you would like to be played.

Ceremonies are available in this room Monday to Saturday. 

The cost of a ceremony in our room in The Guildhall varies dependent on the day you want to have your ceremony.
