The UK is seeking an extension to the date it plans to leave the European Union, making it very likely that we will still be a member state when the European Parliamentary elections take place between 23-26 May 2019.
The Government have set Thursday 23 May as the polling day in the UK for the European Parliamentary elections, so we must now make preparations to take part in these elections.
The UK, which has 73 seats on the European Parliament, is divided onto 12 electoral regions, each with between three and ten MEPs, who represent each person living there.
Hull is located within the Yorkshire and Humber Region constituency, which has six MEPs.
In the UK, the poll will be between 7am and 10pm on Thursday 23 May 2019.
To be eligible to vote in these elections, you must be:
• A British, Irish, qualifying Commonwealth or an EU citizen
• 18 years or older on polling day
• Registered to vote
