You can report a non emergency hate crime or hate incident to Humberside Police. 

In an emergency always telephone 999.

A hate crime is any criminal act committed against a person or their property that is motivated by the offender's hatred or dislike because of their gender status, race, religion, disability or sexual orientation. You can access a video which shows an example of a hate crime.

A hate incident is any incident which the victim, or anyone else, thinks is based on someone's prejudice towards them because of their -

  • race
  • religion
  • sexual orientation
  • disability
  • transgender

Report hate crime to Humberside Police

If you wish to remain anonymous it is important you provide as many details as possible as it may prove difficult to progress the case.

Alternatively telephone the police on 101.

You can also report hate crime at a number of reporting centres.

What happens next

The information you provide is submitted to Humberside Police and is shared with relevant partners including us who work together to resolve the issue.

The police work with us to investigate your report and take appropriate action to stop it happening again or to prevent it from escalating further.
