School improvement strategy

The strategy sets out how we can achieve the school improvement functions that remain in place across the variety of school types in the city. We are clear and transparent about -

  • how schools are categorised
  • the expectations of schools and us
  • what happens if progress has not been made or is not sufficient enough

The strategy is built upon an expectation that they are all part of a family and want to work cooperatively, including sharing appropriate information in line with agreements. We aim to maintain good relationships and promote the highest standards in all schools.

An ambitious education for all children and young people in Hull 2015 - 2018

Our ambition for the city is a high quality education for all children and young people from early years up to and including those in college and university. Hull must focus on delivering better education outcomes. The ambitions are simple but significant.

Ambition one

All children and young people should be able to learn and develop in provision that has been judged to be 'good' or 'outstanding'.

Ambition two

In the key indicators of achievement and attendance in Hull, we will close the gap to national and then aim to exceed national figures. 20191113002937
