Plans for Ferensway - installation of bus and cycle lane
Cyclists will benefit from a designated cycle and bus lane, from Spring Bank to Anlaby Road.
The scheme along Ferensway between Anlaby Road and Freetown Way junctions will include converting the northbound left hand lane into a combined bus and cycle lane, whilst the southbound side is reconfigured into a cycle lane and single wide traffic lane.
Cyclists will be able to use the bus lanes and green coloured surfacing and bike symbols will be installed on the road to highlight the position cyclists should adopt within the bus lanes. Some sections of the route that won't have bus lanes will have cycle lanes installed, to provide a continuous route for cyclists.
All existing parking and bus stop lay-bys will be unaffected.
The work will increase capacity and safety for cyclists and enable more consistent journey times for buses.
