Efficiency plan

We play a leading role in making sure that the city is successful in the future, to attract people and businesses to visit and invest in the area. While there are challenges to face, the city has recently seen great success through inward investment creating new skilled jobs as well as an increasing national and international profile with the city becoming 2017 City of Culture.

We are now looking to balance support for the city’s regeneration while maintaining key services, including care for the vulnerable, while funding is reduced from central government.

We are working with partners to drive forward priority developments, as in the City Plan and at the same time review how and what services we offer so that costs can be kept within affordable limits.
