The programme of regeneration is well underway and extensive rebuilding is taking place. Improvements to the exterior of homes on White Street, Hawthorn Avenue, Wellsted Street and the Boulevard areas were completed in 2016.
106 new homes at St Andrew's Square, Woodcock Street provide a mixture of private homes and social rent through Places for People. The £12 million scheme was the first of our partnership with Keepmoat homes to regenerate the area.
A further 49 new homes on Woodcock Street have been built on land bordered by Hawthorn Avenue and Westbourne Street.
148 homes have been completed and a further 491 new homes at Amy Johnson, on Hawthorn Avenue are offering a mixture of homes for sale from Keepmoat and social rent through Places for People.
Riley College site
348 homes are being built at the site of the former Riley College between Alliance Avenue and Roslyn Road. They are expected to be completed by March 2018.
Hawthorn Avenue East
277 new homes are being built on Hawthorn East.
The first 86 of these include 40 two bedroom bungalows for Pickering and Ferens and 46 houses for Places for People wrap around the Extra Care Development.
These new homes have a range of environmentally friendly features designed to cut fuel bills and reduce pollution, including -
- energy efficient boilers
- cavity, loft and under floor insulation
- low energy lighting
All of the properties are being built using sustainable timber and meet the EcoHomes rating of very good.
Extra Care housing is nearing completion this year and is an £80 million project which includes 95 apartments between Greek Street and Rhodes Street.
