The Pink Bag Scheme

The Pink Bag Scheme has been designed as a way for students moving out at the end of term to dispose of waste in the appropriate way.

Anything that you can’t reuse, recycle or donate can be placed in one of the council’s pink sacks. Anything in these will be disposed of as general waste, so only use them as a last resort.

If your street is highlighted in the pink zones listed on the map below please fill the pink sacks and place them outside your property on the following dates -

  • Wednesday 30 May
  • Thursday 31 May
  • Friday 1 June
  • Monday 4 June
  • Tuesday 5 June
  • Wednesday 6 June

Please present bags between 10am and 2pm and they will be removed.

You will be able to collect pink bags from 7 to 22 May 2018 from the collection points below, just confirm the first line of your address.

  •   HUU Reception – Ground Floor, Student Central
  •   AskHU Desk – Second Floor, Student Central

Items such as -

  • clothes
  • shoes
  • handbags
  • kitchenware
  • textiles

  • small electricals

All can be donated in official British Heart Foundation bags at BHF collection points. Any unused, unopened and non-perishable food can be donated to us and we’ll distribute it to charities across Hull.
