Pavement Licence Process
Each application is considered on individual merit, subject to a non-refundable £100 application fee and will not be processed until all required information has been submitted.
This also applies to variations and renewals.
The Business and Planning Act (Pavement Licences) (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2023 has extended the provisions of the Business and Planning Act 2020 until 30 September 2024.
The application process remains the same and the Council still has up to 14 days to determine a valid application. This includes a mandatory 7 day public consultation period.
You must register and successfully complete the nationally recognised counterterrorism training product referred to as ACT eLearning package. For more information visit Protect UK Police
Please note -
- any licence approved will be granted for a minimum of three months or until legislation expires on 30 September 2024
- Licences approved for three months will be required to reapply on expiry, where another fee (again non-refundable) will be payable
- each application will be judged on its own merits
Revised policies and fees were formally adopted by the Council at its meeting on 17 September 2020 and the policies can be found below.
If granted, the Council will attach conditions as it deems appropriate.
