What happens next
When you report a defect, we inspect it within 5 working days to decide the safety risk and when to fix it. If a repair is considered necessary, it can take up to 28 days to schedule and complete.
If you provided an email address when reporting the defect, we’ll email you when there are important updates, such as -
- when the issue has been inspected
- if repair work is scheduled
- when the work has been completed
There is a limited budget for repairing the roads and paths, that must manage this budget carefully. We sometimes repair in order to make a road safe or usable until larger scale repairs are carried out.
