You can request assistance with your wheeled bin collections if -
- you are currently unable to present the bin in the collection location
- your circumstances may change in the near future, and there is nobody aged 16 or over living in the property who can help
Assisted wheeled bin collections are available for -
- black
- blue
- brown
- composting bins
Examples of why you may need assistance with your wheeled bin collections may include -
- short or long term medical condition
- poor mobility
- pregnancy
You can also provide an additional reason why you may not be able to place your bins in the collection location.
Bins must be stored in an easily accessible location, with no access issues, for example -
- locks
- steps
- gates
An application does not automatically guarantee that you will be successful. All applications are sent to Waste Management to review, and you will be informed directly if you have been successful.
Preparing for an assisted collection
Any gates to the property should be left unlocked from 7am on the scheduled collection day.
The bins should also be accessible to the crew with no objects blocking them where they are stored.
Access
If the crew attend and cannot gain access to the property or bins, they will not return to collect the bins. They will be emptied on the next collection day.
