All checks and maintenance must be carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers.

The Gas Safe Register
All gas installers in Great Britain need to be registered with Gas Safe in order to be able lawfully to carry out any work on gas fittings which includes gas appliances.
The Gas Safe Register maintains an up-to-date register of gas installers who are qualified to install or repair gas fittings and appliances. It checks the competence of gas installers, inspects their work and deals with complaints about unsafe gas work.
