City Centre permits

These cost £80 and are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

If you live in the city centre-controlled zone, and you have a city centre meter zone residents' exemption permit, you can park in any on street pay and display parking place without charge or time limit.

You may also park on George Street or Pryme Street multi storey car park between 7am and 7pm. If you wish to have access outside these hours, you need to obtain a transponder and Hid card. The transponder operates vehicle doors for entry and exit and the Hid operates pedestrian doors. A deposit of £25 is required and refunded on return of both items.

The city centre meter zone parking permit exemption application form. With your application you will need to provide proof that you are a resident within the zone. For example, your current domestic council tax statement. You will also need a copy of the DVLA registration document for your vehicle, showing your name and address.
