Changes to bus lane operating times
The operational times of bus lanes are changing from Monday 18 March 2024.
The new operating hours are Monday to Saturday 7am to 9.30am and 4pm to 6.30pm.
These changes will enable us to balance the different demands on road space, as well as optimise efficient use of the bus lanes for cyclists and public transport during periods of peak travel.
The bus lane signage is currently being changed. From Monday 18 March 2024 all the correct signage will be in place. Every driver should observe the signage in place and take appropriate action.
Carr Lane bus gate
It should be noted that Carr Lane in Hull City Centre is a bus gate not a bus lane. A bus gate is a short section of road that only buses and authorised vehicles can pass through. The operational hours of the bus gate remain the same, it is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Motorists should not travel through Carr Lane bus gate at any time unless using an authorised vehicle.
