Course Information

Aim

The aim of this qualification is to benefit learners by enabling them to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations and/or take on the role of first aider in the workplace.

Delegates should wear loose, comfortable clothing.

Training over three days will cover the following first aid procedures:

  • Accidents and illness
  • Record keeping
  • Heart attacks
  • Shock
  • Bleeding
  • Poisoning
  • Using a first aid kit
  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty
  • Resuscitation
  • Choking
  • Burns and scalds
  • Fractures
  • BLS and safe use of an AED

For external applicants to the Hull City Council, this course comes at a charge of £115 plus VAT (£92 plus VAT for charities) per person.

Course length 3 days
Target group

Nominated staff who have a specific responsibility at work to provide first-aid to people in a range of first aid situations.
