Course Information

Due to the impact of working within a caring profession the issue is not whether stress will appear as the result of the exposure but to what extent.

Objectives -

  • To examine definitions of compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, secondary trauma burnout and moral injury
  • To explore the biology of stress and trauma
  •  To look at the risk and protective factors associated with each
  • To explore resilience and self care methods on an individual level and within a team/organisation
