Course Information

Aims:

  • To update and increase awareness of the importance of oral health education for professionals who work with babies and children.
  • It will give the basic information to promote and maintain good oral health routines for families who attend play sessions, clinics and schools etc.

Objectives:

  • To identify the key evidence based oral health messages relevant to professionals that provide oral health advice to parents of babies and children and young adults
  • To describe the methods of cleaning both baby and adult teeth and describe the methods for biofilm (plaque) removal
  • To discuss the importance of fluoride toothpastes
  • To promote healthy eating and drinking habits
  • To advise on the importance of children accessing dental services etc.
