Course Information

The objectives of this course are:

  • recognise issues in maintaining health and safety of children in placement
  • identify carers responsibilities
  • discuss the nature and consequences of child abuse
  • consider the needs of children and young people who have been harmed
  • review what changes will be necessary in family life to take account of the demands of foster care
  • to look at the topic of allegations and how to minimise the likelihood of their occurrence
  • to provide information of how these allegations are handled
