Aims and Objectives

  • Recognise issues in maintaining health and safety of children in placement
  • Identify carers responsibilities
  • Discuss the nature and consequences of child abuse
  • Consider the needs of children and young people who have been harmed
  • Review what changes will be necessary in family life to take account of the demands of foster care
  • To look at the topic of allegations and how to minimise the likelihood of their occurrence
  • To provide information of how these allegations are handled
