Details

This course offers foster carers an opportunity to explore and discuss the impact of moving children on into adoptive families and identify the tasks foster carers, social workers and managers have in supporting children through the process.

By the end of this course, foster carers will have:

  • An increased understanding of the potential impact on themselves and children they care for who move on into adoptive families

  • Understand the process of how adoptive families are identified and their role and
    responsibilities within this

  • Explored how foster carers can prepare children to move from foster care to adoption.

The course content reflects themes within the Children’s Training Support Development Standards (TSDS).
