Course Information
  • To equip residential staff with knowledge and skills to use PACE approach in the care of children with attachment difficulties
  • To look at challenges of caring for children who are experiencing blocked trust
  • To consider impact of blocked trust on nervous system and intersubjectivity
  • To gain an understanding of shame
  • To look at meeting hidden and expressed needs of CLA
  • To introduce a Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy approach (DDP) using Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy (PACE)
  • To discuss importance of connection before correction and explore behaviour support
  • To provide an opportunity to understand importance of looking after self and recognising impact of own past experiences
  • To understand the importance of recognising blocked care

  • Attachment Trauma and Brain Development
  • Trauma sensitive practice with children
