Brief Intervention and Assessment and Internal Processes for Adult Social Care

A training session to promote early identification of issues related to drug and alcohol use in our everyday practice and to better understand how to refer/record client to ReNew from our internal processes. This session is delivered by ReNew and Hull City Council together.

Brief Intervention and Assessment plus Internal Processes for Adult Social Care  (2.5 hours)

  • What is a Brief Intervention.
  • Cycle of behaviour change.
    • Understanding how to identify and help our clients in each stage
  • Conversation, trust building, professionally curious engagement.
    • Professional curiosity: Questions that can be asked, how to explore more in-depth the issue in order to understand it better.
  • AUDIT/DUDIT tools for quick assessment and identification of substance use.
    • Familiarisation with each of the tools
    • Evaluation of outcomes
    • Application of AUDIT and DUDIT in our everyday practice through case studies.
