To refresh participants knowledge and understanding as to how professionals should work together to safeguard children and promote their welfare. This is a full day course. It is interactive and involves individual and group activities, during which participants will be expected to share their skills, knowledge, and expertise. Participants are expected to have an understanding of Hull Safeguarding Children Board procedures and guidance. They need to have considerable professional and organisational responsibility for safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare. They need to be able to work in a multi-agency context. They require the skills and knowledge to be able to act on child welfare concerns, managing effectively the interface between themselves and staff who may approach them for advice or support or with concerns about a child or young person, and staff from other agencies to whom referrals will be addressed.
