Course Information

Aims

To develop participants understanding as to how professionals should work together to safeguard children and promote their welfare.

This course is interactive and involves individual and group activities, during which participants will be expected to share their skills, knowledge and expertise.

By the end of the course participants will have:

  • An increased understanding of their individual responsibility and accountability in relation to safeguarding children
  • Explored the need for collaborative working, including the need to share and process information in line with legislative requirements
  • Discussed how confident and assertive practice contributes to safeguarding children
Course length 3 hours
Target group
  • those in regular contact or who have a period of intense but irregular contact with children, young people, or parents and carers
  • those who may be in a position to identify safeguarding concerns, including those which may arise from the use of a common and shared assessment
