Offer of a school place

You will be notified by email of the outcome of your application on Monday 2 March 2026, or you can log into the My School Portal below to view the status of your application. If you have opted not to receive an email or have not applied online, we will write to you on Monday 2 March 2026 confirming your allocated school, the status of your application will also be updated on the portal.

If your application was made after the closing date you may not receive an offer of a school place until after Wednesday 18 March 2026.

Each school has a published number of places that are available for allocation.

Where there are -

  • places available for all pupils that have applied then all pupils will qualify for a place
  • more applications for places than there are places available, the oversubscription criteria are used. It determines which pupils qualify for one of these places

If your child -

  • qualifies for a place at only one of the schools named on the application form, your child will be offered a place at the school
  • qualifies for a place at more than one of the schools named on your application form, your child will be offered a place at the school you ranked highest
  • does not qualify for a place at any of the schools named on your application form, your child will be offered a place at your nearest school which has a place available

If you live outside of Hull and have applied for a Hull school, your home authority will forward your application to us. We will notify them if your child qualifies for a place at a Hull school. Your home authority will then confirm which school place your child should be given based on the order of your preferences.

What happens next

After the closing date on Friday 31 October 2025, we process your application. We will contact you by email on Monday 2 March 2026 to let you know which school your child has been allocated.

If you do not apply online confirmation of your allocated school will be posted to your home address on Monday 2 March 2026. We cannot confirm your child's allocated school over the telephone.

If your application was received by the Admissions Team after Friday 31 October 2025, you may not receive your offer of a school place until after Wednesday18 March 2026.

Change of school preference or address

If you need to change your school preferences or address you must contact the School Admissions Team at lsadmissions@hullcc.gov.uk or on 01482 300 300 to request a change form. This must be returned to the School Admissions Team. All preference changes must be returned to the admissions teams before the deadline date if they are to be counted as an ‘on time preference request’. Changes after the deadline will be considered as late even if the original application was on time.

If you change your application after Wednesday 6 January 2026 we may not be able to take your request into consideration until the second round of allocations on Wednesday 18 March 2026.  

Once you have submitted your application online you will not be able to amend it. However, if you need to change your school preferences or address you must contact the School Admissions Team at lsadmissions@hullcc.gov.uk or on 01482 300 300 for further advice and information.
