Criteria for applications -
- applicant should be over the age of 13
- attending or has attended a Hull school
- parents that live in Hull

Award is to assist students starting a -
- music course at the university
- recognised music college
up to the age of 25 years old.

- the university
- FE College and Sixth Forms
Criteria for applications -
- applicant lives in Hull
- applicant attends or has attended a Hull school
- applicants must be entering the first year of a music coursed at university or a music college
- foundation courses are not eligible to be considered

Award is to support young people (up to the age of 25) to travel aboard to support their personal development.
Value of the support is at the discretion of the trustees.

Criteria for applications
Individual or a group up to 25 year old wishing to advance their education through travelling abroad and are looking to arrange reciprocal arrangements.

Alderman Sydney Smith Prize Trust Fund - award levels set annually by trustees
Nomination are requested from schools or other educational and training establishments.
Criteria for applications between the ages of 11 to 18 years old -
- resident, or attending school, in Hull
- pupils who deserve assistance due to their effort and achievement under difficult circumstances (physical/ learning difficult)

Cecil William Rutherford Trust
The Cecil William Rutherford Scholarship Trust provides funding for ex-pupils of -
- Newland St John’s Church of England Academy
- South Holderness Academy and Sixth Form College
Ex-pupils from age 16 upwards are eligible providing they are working towards qualifications related to -
- electricity
- plumbing
- building
- architecture
- medicine (including nursing and physiotherapy)
Courses can be -
- full time
- part time
- further or higher education
- apprenticeships
Funding is paid following confirmation from the education or training provider that the applicant has commenced their course.
Scholarships are awarded to ex-pupils of each school alternately every year. Applications for this year are sought from applicants who are or will be ex-students of Newland St John’s Church of England Academy. The closing date for applications is Friday 10 November 2023.
