There are a number of water play facilities in the city which can be found at the sites below -
- Alderman Kneeshaw Park
- Bude Park
- East Park (currently closed due to essential maintenance)
- Ings Road Park
- Oak Road
- Pickering Park (currently closed due to essential maintenance)
- West




Opening
The water play facilities at -
- Alderman Kneeshaw Park
- Bude Park
- West Park
are open in the summer months from the end of May until the beginning of September on weekends, bank holidays and school holidays.
In addition, the water play facility at Ings Road Park and the paddling pools at Oak Road and West Park are open daily during the schools’ summer holiday.
All facilities are open from 10am until 5pm.
Maintenance
On occasions, the water play facilities/paddling pools may need to be closed at short notice to be drained, cleaned and refilled to maintain safe water quality standards. This may mean they are not open every day while this process is carried out.
Water play facilities / paddling pool guidelines
To ensure that the paddling pool is safe and clean, we politely ask all parents, guardians and users we kindly request the following -
- children are to be supervised at all times
- suitable swimming clothing is to be worn at all times for hygiene -
- swimming nappies
- swimming trunks
- swimming costume is required
- no dogs are allowed in the pool or pool enclosure
- no food or drink is to be brought into the facility
- users should make use of the bins provided or take items home
- no sand, mulch or grass is to be brought from the play area into the facility to keep the pools and filters clear
- glass bottles or glassware must not be brought into the pool enclosure
- the surrounds of the paddling pool may be slippery, so to avoid accidents there is no running in the pool area
- no skateboards, roller skates, bicycles or other such equipment shall be brought into the pool or pool enclosure
- this is a shallow water paddling pool not for swimming or diving
- be respectful to other users and staff on site
