Bedbugs are found worldwide and throughout the UK. They are nocturnal parasitic insects that feed on the blood of humans and other mammals.
Bedbugs are not regarded as disease carriers, but their blood feeding can cause severe irritation in some people, resulting in loss of sleep and lack of energy, particularly in children.
Check if it’s bedbugs
Signs of bedbugs include -
- bites, often on skin exposed while sleeping
- spots of blood on your bedding, these are from the bites or from squashing a bedbug
- small brown spots on bedding or furniture. This is bedbug poo
- an unpleasant almond like smell, this often occurs in a heavily infested room

Note -
Pre-treatment advice is given over the telephone when an appointment is made. This advice normally involves you preparing the property for treatment in advance of the appointment.
If the treatment cannot be carried out, due to this advice not being followed, you will be charged £47 to book a further appointment to carry out the treatment.
