Green Port Hull is a collaboration between Hull City Council, East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Associated British Ports.
It is to promote investment and development of the renewable energy sector in the Humber region. The collaboration wants to support investors and their supply chains to secure long-term economic growth for the area.
Hull's location is perfect to capitalise on the UK’s offshore wind industry. It is playing a key role in achieving the government's targets of net zero emissions by 2050.
The renewable energy sector is the single biggest influence on the local economy for generations. The energy sector creates thousands of new jobs. It brings a wealth of opportunity for local people and businesses.
Through the Green Port Growth Programme, £25.7 million of RGF Funding has been secured for -
- inward investment
- skills and employment
- business support
- research and development
to make sure that local people and businesses get the maximum benefit from the renewable energy sector.
