Relationships - Local offer

Home / Children and families / Advice and support for young people / Relationships - Local offer

Having strong and supportive relationships is crucially important for care leavers as they move to independent adult life. Local authorities will want ot consider the services and/or support that is available to help care leavers develop and maintain positive social networks and to understand what positive relationships look like. As well as support from a personal adviser, we may be able to offer you additional practical and emotional support, such as through -

  • providing you with a mentor/peer mentor
  • help to maintain or regain contact with people special to you and who cared for you in the past, like former foster carers, independent visitors or social workers
  • support to re connect with family where it is in your best interest
