Help with renovating an empty property

If your property has been empty for more than 2 years, you may be entitled to a VAT reduction to renovate your property.  You can find more information on the GOV.UK website.

If you have purchased or inherited a derelict empty property which requires major structural works, or demolition you can appeal to the Valuation Office Agency to have the property deleted from the Council Tax lists. Council Tax would remain payable whilst the appeal is being considered.

There are currently no grants for empty property renovations unless you are a social housing or registered provider.
