Humber Historic Environment Record (HER)

Please note that from 1st April 2026, the Humber Archaeology Partnership will be replaced by The East Yorkshire and Hull Historic Environment Record. The services provided by the HER will continue in the same way, however, the existing contact details for staff will change and the location of the physical Historic Environment Record will be moved from Hull to Beverley.

The Humber Historic Environment Record (HER) is the collection of all known heritage assets and historic landscapes in -

  • East Riding of Yorkshire
  • Hull

Records date from the prehistoric period through to the 20th century.

The collection includes -

  • archaeological sites
  • historic buildings
  • landscape features

Use the HER for archaeological advice regarding -

  • submitting a planning application
  • help with environmental issues
