You can make donations can to any Emmaus store. This includes a drive up option at the back of the Whitefriargate store. They would like to prioritise clothes, furniture, and homeware. You can also donate furniture or white goods.

The British Red Cross has launched an emergency fundraising appeal in response to the intensification of fighting in Ukraine.

Your donation could help someone affected get -

  • water
  • first aid
  • medicines
  • warm clothes
  • shelter

Free SIM cards for Ukrainians

Our cash based assistance is only available for Ukrainian refugees who have entered the UK, within the last 14 days, on either the -

  • family scheme
  • community sponsorship scheme
  • have permitted entry and stamped passport from UK Border Force

The British Red Cross is giving Ukrainian Guests free SIM cards.

  • they must be applied for within the first 14 days after arrival
  • the applicant must be the guest themselves not the host. Translators are available
  • the applicant will need to call the number below, select option 3 and the Red Cross will complete a form

The form will then be emailed to the guest to check and return with photos of -

  • photo passport page
  • visa
  • date of entry stamp

The following SIM cards are available dependent on the stock available to the British Red Cross -

  • Vodafone - free calls, texts, 20gb data for 6 months in the UK only
  • Tesco - 3 months of free calls to Ukraine, 1000 minutes of calls in the UK, 5000 texts and 8GB data

The British Red Cross offer one SIM card per person, but multiple applications can be made for groups and families.

UNICEF

UNICEF is especially concerned for the safety and wellbeing of children who have become separated from their families.

UN Refugee Agency

The UN Refugee Agency is working with local authorities and other partners in Ukraine to provide humanitarian assistance.

GlobalGiving

GlobalGiving is a nonprofit organisation that supports other nonprofits by connecting them to donors and companies. There are 39 organisations listed on their website that are supporting Ukraine.

Looking for missing family in Ukraine

If you have lost contact with your family in Ukraine during the conflict and you know they have crossed the border, keep trying to contact them. It may be a temporary loss of contact as they transition to networks in other countries.

If you are unable to contact your family and you think they are still within the territory of Ukraine, British Red Cross may be able to help you.

Email findyour_family@redcross.org.uk and provide your full name and telephone number. A team member from the International Family Tracing service will contact you as soon as possible.
