Regeneration work on Whitefriargate

The Humber High Street Challenge Fund will act as an initial catalyst to deliver early regeneration works on Whitefriargate in the heart of Hull’s Old Town.

The scheme will provide grants to businesses, property owners and investors to help improve building frontages, bring unused floorspace back into use, and facilitate new business startup and expansion proposals.

Grants will cover up to half of the total project costs, helping to overcome barriers which have prevented private sector investment in the street. The scheme will unlock the full potential of Whitefriargate, encouraging new leisure, boutique retail and food and beverage uses that will ensure that the street remains sustainable over the long term.
