All private hire vehicles must be -
- in a manufacturers' single standard factory colour
- less than 8 years old from date of first registration
- any 4 door saloon, 5 door estate or hatchbacks with a luggage screen or guard fitted, or a minibus type vehicle
- able to accommodate adequate seating for at least 4 persons in addition to the driver and or up to a maximum of 8 passenger carrying seats
- able to carry at least 2 medium sized suitcases without reducing passenger carrying capacity
Once licensed, a vehicle may be renewed until it is no more than 14 years old.
