If you are a Registered Social Landlord (RSL), joining the RSL verification scheme can speed up the processing of your tenant’s claim.
The aim of the scheme is to encourage tenants to provide a fully completed application form with all supporting evidence at their first appointment with you. If your tenant does this, we promise to pay benefit entitlement within 5 working days of receiving the full information.
What happens next
We ask you to sign an agreement that details your role and the responsibilities you must adhere to once you have joined the scheme.
Your staff then attend a 2-day training course where they learn -
- how to complete claims
- what they need to do to check a claim made by a tenant
- which proofs are required to verify a claim and how to check them for authenticity
