Beverley Road Townscape Heritage Scheme

Beverley Road is one of our most important historic routes. It first appeared on record more than 700 years ago and designated a Conservation Area in 1994.

Since 2015, we have been delivering the Beverley Road Townscape Heritage Scheme. The scheme is there to protect, restore and celebrate the history of Beverley Road. It has included -

  • conservation and repair grants to owners of historic properties
  • public realm works to reinstate historic boundaries and support green spaces
  • wide-ranging community engagement programmes with local residents

The Beverley Road Townscape Heritage Scheme has been supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This is all thanks to National Lottery players.

The scheme comes to a close in early 2024 and all property grants have now been allocated. There are still opportunities for local residents and visitors to engage with the project. They can learn more about the story of Beverley Road with our downloadable resources.
