Rossett House

We care about our tenants and we want to make homes -

  • better
  • safer
  • more comfortable

Rossett House is an older building that needs a lot of work to meet new safety rules and modern living standards.

What we’ve done so far

  • closed gaps in the roof to stop fires from spreading
  • covered the outside cladding for safety
  • installed special fire-rated doors for each flat
  • updated fire extinguishers in key areas like the lift and boiler room
  • put up signs to help people find their way around
  • hired a contractor to check the flat entrance doors every year
  • increased patrols, with two visits each night, to keep the building safe from fire hazards

What we will do next

Following extensive consultation with residents and the community the decision was taken in March 2025 to demolish Rossett House. Demolition Notices have been sent by letter to residents, owners and the community.

The relocation programme began in May and a team of Housing Liaison Officers are working closely with residents and owners throughout this process. We are supporting this by purchasing and redeveloping houses in the area.

Once everyone is moved out then we will be inviting the community to work with us on redeveloping the site with new affordable housing.
