Tenants’ Garden Competition
You can enter our garden competition if you are a Hull City Council tenant within the Hull boundary.
You must also meet the following criteria to enter the competition -
- you have done the gardening yourself
- you can only submit one entry per household
- communal gardens must be shared by more than one property
Categories and judging
The judging is split into East, West and North.
Prizes awarded in the following categories for each area on best -
- individual garden
- communal garden
- eco garden
- container garden
Visits to gardens will take place in the first and second week of July 2024.
The judges will make their decisions based on the following criteria -
- original ideas and design
- colourful and bright displays
- quality of plants
- imaginative use of available space

Key dates
The entry closing date is Friday 31 May 2024.
Judging will be carried out on the first and second week of July 2024.
Prize winners for 2024 will be notified and invited to an awards ceremony at the Guildhall in December 2024.
