The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) is designed to support low-income households who face a financial shock and will help to strengthen both individual and community financial resilience.
The CRF is a national scheme introduced by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), providing funding to local authorities in England from Wednesday 1 April 2026 to Saturday 31 March 2029. This fund will replace the Household Support Fund (HSF).
We have discretion over how the fund is used, in line with the latest government guidance.
We are currently reviewing the national guidance, and working to design our local scheme.
As soon as they are available, we will publish the full details on this page, including -
- eligibility criteria
- how to apply for Crisis Payments or Housing Payments
- information on support through Resilience Services and community partners
There is no need to contact us at this stage.
The scheme is funded by the UK Government. For more information you can visit the GOV.UK website.
