Applying for a permit

You must apply for a digital permit online. You can continue using your existing paper permit until the expiry date.

To register and apply online you need -

  • to have an email address to receive confirmation of your digital permit
  • proof of running your business in a residents parking zone. This can be a business rates bill or documents such as -
    • a utility bill
    • bank statement dated within the last 3 months
    • a business lease agreement
  • proof of your business being in charge of a vehicle

If your vehicle is registered, leased or insured in the business name, and at the business address, you will need to provide one of the following -

  • a DVLA registration certificate (V5)
  • current motor insurance document
  • long term Hire Agreement (over 6 months)

If a company pool vehicle is being used, you will need to provide a written confirmation from the officer of the company office in whose name this vehicle is registered, stating that this vehicle is used by the business at the above address

Once approved, you will receive an email to confirm your digital permit.

If a permit is rejected, you will provided with a reason why such as incorrect proofs provided and you will need to reapply following the correct procedure.

Zone Q Business permit

To apply for a Zone Q Business permit, you only need to provide proof of running your business in a residents parking zone. Proof of vehicle ownership is not required.
