Amend, cancel or replace a parking permit
Amending a vehicle registration
Digital permits If you have changed your vehicle, you will need to change the vehicle registration on your digital permit to avoid receiving a penalty charge notice (PCN).
To do this –
- log in to your account and select Manage Digital Permits
- select the permit that needs its registration changed
- Make desired changes and save

Paper permits
If you hold a valid paper business parking permit, you will need to -
- book an appointment at a Library
- take evidence of your change and your permit with you to avoid £10 charge for a replacement permit
You can contact Libraries by telephone on 01482 210 000 to book an appointment for a paper permit.
Be aware that appointments are limited.
Renewing your permit
When your digital permit is due for renewal, you will receive a reminder emails 30 days and 7 days before it is due to expire.
If you have a paper permit, you will receive a letter thirty days before it expires. Paper permits are no longer being issued at renewal. You will need to apply for a digital permit.
Permits can only be renewed up to 30 days in advance of the expiry date. You can renew and check the status of your permit by logging into your MiPermit account.
All renewals require you to provide proof of address and proof of vehicle ownership.
Cancelling a permit
If you no longer need your permit, you do not have to cancel it. Refunds are not available for business parking permits.
If you do wish to cancel your digital permit you can do this by -
- logging into MiPermit
- visiting the Manage Digital Permits section
- selecting the permit you want to cancel and follow the process
For paper permits, you do not need to do anything as it will be cancelled once expired.
Changing an address
For digital permits, please contact help@mipermit.com with a copy of the business rates bill for the new property.
If you do not have this, please provide alternative documents to help@mipermit.com in the form of a -
- tenancy agreement or licence to occupy
- completion statement showing the names of the business, the full address and signatures of all parties
- bank statement or utility bill dated within the last 3 months
If you hold a valid paper business parking permit, to change the address on your permit, you will need to -

- take evidence of your change and your permit with you to avoid £10 charge for a replacement permit
Lost, damaged or stolen
If your paper permit has been lost, damaged or stolen, you will need to -
- book an appointment at a Library
- take evidence of your business
There is a £10 charge for a replacement unless -
- you take your damaged permit with you
- you can provide evidence of a crime number
