Bus lane operating times
Bus lane enforcement ensures the free flow of traffic across the city. It is mainly used in areas with traffic congestion or bus lane misuse. Bus Lanes are placed on key arterial routes across the city -

- Holderness Road
- Clarence Street
- Ferensway
The operational hours of Hull bus lanes are Monday to Saturday from 7am to 9.30am and 4pm to 6.30pm.
During operational hours, only motorcycles, licensed taxis and buses are permitted to drive in the bus lane without penalty.
This includes all public holidays and Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
Carr Lane bus gate
Carr Lane in Hull City Centre is a bus gate, not a bus lane. The operational hours of the bus gate are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you travel through Carr Lane in a vehicle that is not authorised, you will be liable for a penalty charge notice.
