This service is only available to customers within the Hull City boundary.
You are unable to book a bulky item collection for a resident who have vacated the property. The resident needs to be living at the property and paying council tax to be entitled to a free bulky item collection.
The most environmentally friendly, and often the quickest way to remove unwanted items is to donate them to a charity.
Reuse Electrical Collections operated by Dove House
You can now donate items such as large domestic appliances and fridges and freezers which are in good condition and in working order and have them collected for free by Dove House.
The appliances must be in good condition and in working order and residents must be happy to donate them for reuse.
The following items will be collected under a re-use electrical scheme -
- washing machines
- tumble driers
- single and double ovens
You can also dispose of unwanted items at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC).
Annual free collection
Households are eligible for one free bulky item collection of up to 5 items in a 12-month period.
If you need to dispose of more than 5 items in a 12-month period this will require an additional collection with a minimum charge of £29.
Some items cannot be included in a free collection, these incur an additional charge. DIY items remain chargeable for all collections.
