You will need to purchase a permit if you are wanting to place the following items placed on an adopted highway -
- scaffolding
- mobile scaffolding
- cherry picker
- scissor lift
- container
- crane
- skips
- section 50
- excavation in the highway

Skip permits
In order to request a skip permit you must be on the approved list of contractors. To apply for a skip to be placed on the adopted highway you will -
- need to make the request by emailing network.management@hullcc.gov.uk. This must include -
- the location of where the skip is to be placed
- the size
- start dates
- the expected duration
The permit will be issued directly to the company making the request. The licence is to cover for one week at a fee of £32. Any extensions must be requested by emailing network.management@hullcc.gov.uk
Skip permits can take up to three working days to be processed, although every effort is made to process these as soon as possible. Invoices will be sent out on a monthly basis with a breakdown of all skip requests made by the skip company.
If any applications are unsuccessful the Network Management will contact you directly.
