If you are an owner of a dwelling house in the Avenues and Pearson Park conservation area, you need to apply for planning permission to carry out any of the following work -

  • the enlargement
  • improvement
  • or other alteration

of -

  • a dwelling house by the removal or alteration of any window, or any bay, in an elevation facing a highway
  • a projecting porch or the enclosing of a recessed porch of a dwelling house in an elevation facing a highway. This includes the installation or replacement of -

Planning permission is also required for -

  • the installation
  • alteration
  • replacement

of -

An alteration to the roof of a dwelling house consisting of a change in the type of roofing material.

The erection or construction of a porch outside any external door of a dwelling house in an elevation facing a highway.

Planning permission is also required for -

  • the formation
  • laying out
  • and construction

of a means of access to the highway which is not a trunk road or a classified road.

Development consisting of the provision within the curtilage of a dwelling house of a hard surface within a front garden adjoining a tenfoot access and to all properties with an existing vehicular crossover to the public highway within the Avenues part of the Avenues and Pearson Park conservation area.
