Garden Village

If you are an owner of a house in the Garden Village conservation area, you need to apply for planning permission to carry out any of the following work -

  • the erection
  • construction
  • maintenance
  • improvement
  • alteration

of a -

  • gate
  • fence
  • wall
  • other means of enclosure

within the curtilage of a dwelling house and fronting a highway. A highway is defined as any public right of way.

Any alteration to the roof of a dwelling house is shown coloured red on the roofs plan. Some of the uncoloured properties on the roofs plan are listed buildings. As such, any alteration to any part of them, internal or external, is likely to need listed building consent.
