North Bridge
Following the completion of the level 1 assessment in June 2022, it was found that there in weakness to the connections of the moving span and the West fixed span of the bridge.
A more detailed assessment is being carried out to best understand the modes of failure and the how to locally strengthen the structure. A strengthening and repair scheme is to be developed to improve the condition and the carrying capacity of the structure and will be implemented within the next five years.
It should be anticipated that this scheme will impact on some journeys during the works. We will look at ways to mitigate these impacts wherever possible.
Details of the confirmed programme, including exact timeframes, will be announced on this page, and on Hull CC News.
In the meantime, whilst the programme is being developed, the bridge is being monitored for safety.
